Barb and Tracie are huge fans of the Fish Lips Kiss Heel. This pattern, written by Sox Therapist, is only $1! Although it is 16 pages long (with very detailed directions on making a cardboard cutout of your foot, along with measuring instructions), both Tracie and Barb "cheated" and went straight to the heel instructions. This pattern works for both toe-up and cuff-down patterns.
Barb has had a good stretch of great books! She has finished:
The Silent Girls by Eric Riskstad - thumbs up for a quick read
Gray Mountain by John Grisham - thumbs up for Grisham fans
Persuasion by Jane Austen - thumbs up!
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty - an enthusiastic thumbs up
The Dry Grass of August by Anna Jean Mayhew - a thumbs up for a good coming-of-age story set in the 1950s segregated South
Show Me Good Land by Shonna Milliken Humphrey - thumbs up
Tracie has finished:
The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line
(Veronica Mars) by Rob Thomas
& Jennifer Graham - thumbs up
Mr. Kiss-and-Tell (Veronica Mars) by Rob Thomas
& Jennifer Graham - Tracie didn't like it as much as The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line, especially since the Audible version wasn't narrated by Kristen Bell
The Perfect Stranger by Wendy Corsi Staub
Persuasion by Jane Austen
The Handsome Man's Delux Cafe by
Alexander McCall Smith - an enthusiastic thumbs up!
Vampires in the Lemon Grove by
Karen Russell
Barb is currently reading:
People I Want to Punch in the Throat: Competitive Crafters, Drop-Off Despots and Other Suburban Scourges by Jen Mann
The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnston
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Tracie is currently reading:
Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey
The Mystery on the Isles of Shoals by J. Dennis Robinson
Tracie's Thumbs Up: http://mccallspatternbehavior.tumblr.com - old sewing pattern illustrations with very dry commentary
